A large translucent yellow calcite crystal with flashes of color

Fine Minerals

Rarity has nothing to do with size.

We select what rarely appears: an association with calcite, an uncommon architecture, a color, a crystallization. Every Fine Minerals piece comes with its video, our reading and its documented origin.

Two pieces can weigh the same and be very different mineralogically. Value begins with knowing how to see that difference.

Four polished geodes with interiors of different colors: red, ocher, brown and green

Color

Depth, distribution and character of the violet, and the way it responds to light.

Crystal

Size, shape, termination, luster and integrity of the crystals.

Architecture

How the piece is built: depth, opening, proportion and the relationship between its surfaces.

Associations

Calcite, agate and other minerals that share the formation history of the cavity. Some associations are especially uncommon.

Condition

What remains natural and what has been worked. Repairs, stabilization, cuts, treatments and polishing are part of a piece's history and must be disclosed.
